Sales & Marketing

  • Every customer contact is logged. And every price mentioned to a customer is a quotation.
  • Practising these rules creates a rich history of customer interests, quotations, bids and bid-results. REAL makes it easy to recognize customers and enter quotations. Whenever the customer phones again, this information is available.
  • Interest, bids, quotations and quotation-results are logged per machine in order to take informed decisions about marketing and prices. Changes in asking prices are tagged with a reason-code so they can be justified when the customer asks.
  • Supporting functionality includes advertising on multiple websites, email-campaigns, workflow, automatic emails with flyers and general conditions, customer reminders, sales orders and invoices with prepayments and letter-of-credit.

Transport 02

Equipment

  • In REAL any address or transit-location can hold stock. When a machine is bought it will be received into stock at the address agreed upon in the purchase order.
  • Only by executing one or more transport-orders the machine can be moved to its destination address. At any point during transport, the actual transit (truck, port, vessel) or storage location is known.
  • Similarly, when the machine is sold it will have to be transported to the delivery address, as specified in the sales order, before the actual delivery can take place.
  • REAL distinguishes between managed-stock and owned-stock. Managed stock changes when machines are received from suppliers or delivered to customers. Owned-stock only changes upon receiving or sending official invoices. For this reason REAL supports workflows that requires prepayments before creating the sales invoice.

Project 03

Materials & Work

  • REAL can create work orders for every machine based on standard work procedures. A work procedure defines a numer of work orders that have to be executed in a certain order, for example: inspect, repair, clean, paint, sticker and photograph.
  • An inspection work order is automatically created whenever a new machine arrives at a company address. After inspection a work-procedure is selected and all required work orders are added to the main work order.
  • Work orders are linked to both purchase and transport in order to determine when materials are available and when the machine is scheduled for transport.
  • REAL makes use of item catalogs from multiple suppliers and can import purchase orders from supplier websites.
  • Lot-control allows materials to be traced from purchase order to the final customer.

Technology

  • REAL is based on Java Enterprise technology. This platform can run fully open-source or commercially licenced, depending of the required level of support.
  • The aim of REAL is to write software in terms of the business. No Strings, Longs or Decimals. Instead, Documents, Quantities and Amounts. The highter the level of abstraction, the closer to the business, the less software and the less bugs.
  • REAL supports multiple monitors as can be seen in the Equipment Overview screen. The left monitor shows the current stock with filtering and sorting on every column. The right-monitor displays details of the selected machine.
